The Fastest Flywheel Grinder in the Industry — Grind Most Flywheels in 5–10 Minutes.
The Van Norman FG10000 is the heavy-duty step up from the FG5000, engineered for high-volume automotive and truck machine shops that demand more power, more clearance, and faster cycle times. With a 10 HP grinding motor, the largest column in the industry at 5.5" diameter, and 10.5" vertical head travel, the FG10000 handles the full range of automotive, import, light truck, and heavy-duty truck flywheels — as well as center plates and racing clutch components.
- 10 HP grinding motor @ 3,500 RPM — twice the power of the FG5000; handles hard spots and heat checks without hesitation
- 5.5" diameter chromed, precision-ground column — largest in the industry; constantly lubricated, rubber-boot protected
- 10.5" vertical head travel — most clearance in class; accommodates heavy-duty truck flywheels and stepped applications
- Zero table deflection — one-piece 480 lb base casting with cast-in table support; no thrust bearings, no wear, no service
- Direct drive gear reduction — no chains or belts to adjust, lubricate, or replace; consistent torque every cycle
- Plunge grinding — grinds the entire friction surface simultaneously for a swirl finish; operator controls surface finish via sparkout time
- Optional PowerHead (Auto Downfeed) — powers the head up and down automatically; set target depth and walk away
- AutoGrind™ — available with PowerHead; pre-set depth stop for repeatable, unattended grinding cycles
- Made in Cedar Rapids, Iowa by Van Norman, a name in machine shop equipment since 1908
FG10000 vs. FG5000 — Which do you need?
Both machines share the same table diameter, work piece capacity, and footprint. The FG10000 adds a larger column (5.5" vs. 4.44"), more head travel (10.5" vs. 8.75"), and double the grinding motor (10 HP vs. 5 HP). Choose the FG10000 if you grind heavy-duty truck flywheels regularly, run high daily volume, or need maximum rigidity for hard-spot work.
